Canon EOS Rebel XS and his successor, XSI, are virtually the same camera, but XSi has more to offer than the "little brother" and is a bit 'expensive. To choose between the two, you should first consider your budget and the seriousness that is the photograph on DSLR. If you believe this will be strong and eager to learn and improve themselves over the long term, then XSi is for you. Otherwise, my advice is to go for the voice-XS level, and then move on to something more elaborate, if you ever want to. Here are the similarities and differences between the two models – both come with an image processor DIGIC 3, with the only difference is that XSi 12.2 megapixels, while the XS is only 10.1. – The objective and consistent, from one model to another. – Working with both SDHC and SD memory cards. – The battery is made for both models are identical. – Both cameras accept most Canon EOS accessories (I know one or two that do, canon rebel xs, not work, but I can not remember now, I have never used) – can shoot 3.5 fps in RAW continues XSi, XS, while only 1 , 5 bps, canon rebel xs, . In JPEG mode, XS is a bit 'faster, can do 3.5 fps, but has only 3.0 XSi. – The LCD on the XSi is a half an inch larger than in XS: 3.0 "compared with only 2.5". – XSi with HTP (Highlight Tone, canon rebel xs, Priority), while his predecessor. – XSi offers wireless remote shooting, while it is not compatible with an XS RC-1 or RC-5 protocols, so as not to be able to activate the camera from a distance. – You can only buy the XS with lens kit, while the camera body XSi can be purchased separately at the time of writing this review, I truly believe that Canon XSi is the best entry level Canon DSLR and perfect for amateur photographers who just discovered this, canon rebel xs, new passion. Author: Chris Campbell

The canon rebel xsi is my first digital SLR, and I used it for about three months. I must admit that I was a little 'uncertain about how to get a new camera, but I've always liked Canon cameras, because I used an, canon rebel xs, ELAN II in high school. Two years ago I bought a Canon SD600 and I was happy. So far,, canon rebel xs, this Canon Rebel SLR camera I was not disappointed. The Rebel XSi with IS lens works wonders on my shots. If you're going to get a Rebel XSi too, but, canon rebel xs, second thoughts are with you, here are some advantages and disadvantages that we hope will help you decide. Start with the battery life. XSi battery, canon rebel xs, life is great. I could take more than 5000 images and the battery has gone down only twice. The Live View function, contrary to popular belief,, canon rebel xs, not a replacement for point and shoot. Because you can not use the Live View, automatic mode, making it not as user-friendly for beginners. The function is best suited for professionals such as landscape photographers and those who are not studio work, because they can connect the camera to your PC and use remote viewing. As the image quality, I must say that I succeeded in taking pictures both in studio and outdoor environments. When I was in the studio, I used tungsten lights the subject against a white background. The picture quality was great, perfect skin tones and very little chromatic aberration at the edges. I counted recently and I thought that with close-up photos of bees, a good way to test the quality of shooting outdoors. I was not disappointed. All. The camera captured these details, even if the goal is a bit 'short. The photos showed large, considering the lens only cost $ 100. All in all, the Canon Rebel SLR camera down, feels sturdy, not too heavy or too light, and fits in your hand. If you are looking for a great camera and was not limited by budget, the XSi is the way to go. The Rebel XSi is a bit 'expensive by the standards of some people, but I say it is worth every penny and you will see quality pictures to prove it. If you do not mind waiting a bit 'more, wait until prices go down so you can spend the money on additional lenses and accessories instead.

Getting the perfect camera, is never an easy thing, especially with way digital technology is constantly changing. Fortunately, there are plenty of helpful websites online, that can narrow down your search and help you find the camera with all the features important to you.

Author: Wayne Rasku
Source: ezinearticles.com

Imagine taking the best picture of your life. While you imagine thinking of, canon rebel xs, winning a photography contest photos in your local town. He was selected for entry, canon rebel xs, in a national magazine published the photograph and photographers wherever he gets to tell, canon rebel xs, what a beautiful image that you took. Back on earth, you realize that you need a broader DSLR camera. And Canon is your final choice. (Excellent decision, among other things). Now all you have to do is choose between the two rebels who are in the top of the market entry level DSLR. Firstly there is, canon rebel xs, the canon rebel xsi (aka 450D Rebel), and then there is the Canon Rebel T1i (aka Rebel 500D). Both are much appreciated by people who bought them. Very few customers are dissatisfied with their purchase. You can find this out by going to amazon.com or B & H Photo and the search for one of the cameras. You will find that there are user reviews, and testimonials of buyers camera. Purchasers because they are so happy with their choice of Canon DSLR is that these cameras are masterfully produced and take photos of high quality. The differences between the two DSLR cameras are fairly basic and easy to understand. The difference in megapixels is not as important as some might think. When one speaks of 12.2 vs. 15.1 megapixels, it's, canon rebel xs, like a drop in the bucket megapixel! You can produce a huge print from a camera … than 9 to 13 (which is the bigger picture that can be printed with printers at home most part). Among other things, the T1i the 15.1 megapixel sensor and the XSi's 12.2 megapixels. The big difference is that the video may take T1i while the XSi does not have video capability. And not only T1i take video, takes the GS-quality video. Although not as good as a dedicated camera, the quality is very good indeed. Another important difference is Auto Creative. This feature is available in T1i but not XSI. Creative Auto is like to work with a number of the best point and shoot cameras. It allows the photographer more creative shots using the camera settings, instead of relying on their knowledge of individual photographs. Canon claim that the novice photographer can take better pictures, while learning to use their DSLR. The final difference in this DSLR shoot out the price. In this category, the Rebel XSi is the clear winner, at about $ 150 below the Rebel T1i.

The bottom line: Do you need video and creative auto? Would you like to save about $150 that you could use to get a special lens? Go to http://www.squidoo.com/canon-rebel-xsi-x1i to discover more about the Canon Rebel XSi vs. T1i debate.

DSLR Guide: Know about Lens part:5

How to Tell the Maximum Aperture of a Lens

example:

* 50mm f/1.8
* 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
* 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3

The first set of numbers represent the focal length or focal length range.
The second set of numbers these indicate the maximum aperture of the lens.there’s really no point in marking the MINIMUM aperture on the lens, because that’s pretty much the same for all lenses.

Constant Maximum Aperture.

The maximum aperture of a prime lens is only one.
With some zoom lenses, there can be TWO maximum apertures.because your zoom lens has a variable maximum aperture.
Example: 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom.

* At 18mm the maximum aperture is f/3.5
* At 55mm the maximum aperture narrows to f/5.6

Somewhere in the middle of the zoom range (30mm) you’ll get a maximum aperture number somewhere in the middle – say, f/4.
Zoom lenses like this are a real problem for professional photographers who control their cameras manually. This is because with a variable max aperture zoom, exposure settings constantly change as you zoom in and out.
But there are plenty of zoom lenses with constant maximum apertures.

Example: 28-70mm f/2.8 (2.8 is the max aperture at both 28mm and 70mm and everywhere in between)

What Max Aperture Do You Need?

LightingRationaleMax Aperture
IndoorsIf you want to take photos indoors without a flash, you need to get a lens with a very wide maximum aperture to let in plenty of lightf/1.4 - f/2.8
OvercastOvercast days are especially challenging for sports photographers, who need to use fast shutter speeds to freeze motionf/2.8 - f/3.5
ShadeShade is not as dim as a cloudy day and you have a bit more leeway when it comes to the maximum aperturef/3.5 - f/5.6
DaylightIn broad daylight it really doesn't matter what the max aperture of the lens is - you probably won't be using it because it lets in too much light and over-exposes the imageAny

If your photos succeed or fail based on having a fast shutter speed (so that they don’t all turn out blurry) then you’re going to want to find a lens with a nice wide max aperture to help you get blazing-fast shutter speeds regardless of the amount of natural light.

DSLR Guide: Know about Lens part:4

Aperture

The maximum aperture of the lens you choose can have a significant impact on the types of photos you can take with your digital SLR camera.

There is a standard scale for aperture numbers

1.4 / 2.0 / 2.8 / 4.0 / 5.6 / 8.0 / 11 / 16 / 22 / 32  let’s see picture below.

apertur

Form www.elizabethannedesigns.com

Smaller Aperture Number (1.4) = Wider Aperture = More Light

Larger Aperture Number (16) = Narrower Aperture = Less Light

Maximum Aperture

The limit to how wide a lens can be opened is called the maximum aperture.

All lens apertures can be narrowed as much as you want. For example, every lens on the market today – regardless of manufacturer – can be set to f/16.

But every lens on the market cannot be opened up to f/1.4

Lens A might have a maximum aperture of f/2.8 while lens B will have a maximum aperture of f/4. While both lenses can be set to an aperture of f/8 (narrower than the maximum setting) the f/4 lens cannot be opened up to f/2.8.

The benefits of lenses with wide maximum apertures is

Natural Light Photos

A digital SLR camera sensor needs light to create an image.

There are two ways that it can get the light that it needs: it can keep the shutter open for a long period of time or open the aperture as wide as possible.

If you had a lens with more a maximum aperture Then you can use more a shutter speed which means that you can get clear photos without the flash.

Fast Shutter Speeds

Example: You set the aperture on your lens as wide as it can go (let’s say f/5.6), and check the shutter speed. The camera tells you that you can use a shutter speed of 1/125 of a second

If you had a lens with a wider maximum aperture you could get the shot. With a wider aperture (say f/2.8) your shutter speed could be 1/500 of a second.

Since the wide aperture lets in so much light, the shutter doesn’t have to stay open as long.

Reduced Depth of Field

Lenses with wide maximum apertures have shallow depth of field.

If you have a lens with a maximum aperture of f/5.6, you can’t reduce the depth of field as much as you can with a wider aperture.

Nature and portrait photographers use Wider Aperture all the time to reduce the impact of a busy background.
